CEO of Legacy, Bart Dorrestein, believes in supporting local artists and in doing so, adds another dimension to Legacy's hotels and resorts.

Legacy's dedication to the philosophy of supporting emerging artists has been ongoing since the development of the Michelangelo Hotel and is now evidenced in all of Legacy's hotels and resorts, including the Michelangelo Towers, the Raphael Penthouse Suites, the DAVINCI Hotel & Suites as well as the newly completed Wheatbaker Hotel in Lagos, Nigeria.
Art was placed in the apartments of the Raphael Penthouse Suites, Michelangelo Towers, DAVINCI Hotel & Suites as well as the Wheatbaker Hotel for the enjoyment of the owners and guests who stay in them.
Part of Legacy's philosophy is that no medium is excluded, and artists, whether they work in ceramic, mosaic, plastic, collages, water colours, oils, charcoal, bronze and stone are given an opportunity to participate and add value to the inspirational buildings that the Legacy Group develops.
"Our vision is to give as many varied artists the opportunity to have their work seen by as many people as possible and so create an ongoing interest and to generate new interest in their work as well as the theatre in which they operate, being our developments," says Dorrestein.
"This way, artists will become better known and in many instances they have achieved international acclaim as well as becoming self-sustaining through the income they achieve from their art."
