Kwa Festivities

Dec 12, 2019

The “Place of the Rock” is the place to be this Festive Season. The vegetation is lush and alive from all the rain that has blessed Africa lately. Pilanesberg in Summer is paradise, and Kwa Maritane Bush Lodge is one of the best places to stay.

The resort is a playground for the wildlife enthusiast, offering multiple options to experience the glory of the African bushveld. Early morning and late afternoon Game Drives ensure that you enjoy an authentic safari whilst temperatures are a bit cooler. For the more adventurous, Bush Walks are available to explore the wonders of the park on foot. Our experienced Fields Guides will keep you entertained with their vast knowledge surrounding the Fauna and Flora of the Pilanesberg National Park. There is always the option of a self-drive to enjoy at your leisure, just remember to pack a snack for the various picnic spots inside the park. For the kiddies, enquire about the Junior Rangers Program which is as fun as it is educational. Lastly, whilst at Kwa Maritane, don’t forget to follow the underground tunnel that will lead you to the hide overlooking a waterhole – you can also watch this live from the TV in the comfort of your room.

For the foodies, the Kwa Lefikeng Restaurant will tantalise your taste buds with their various themed menus including, Fisherman’s Catch (Friday), Butchers Grill (Saturday), Spit Braai and Feast of Flavours (Sunday). The restaurant overlooks another water hole where the elephants love to frolic. Kwa Maritane also boasts a stunning open-air Boma at which you can attend dinner after your afternoon game drive on Wednesday’s and Saturday’s. The fire is bright, the food is fresh, and the ambience creates a dreamy night under the stars.

As far as amenities at the lodge go, you are spoilt for choice! There is a giant chess set, children’s play area, two floodlit tennis courts, climbing wall and “Bush Golf”. It is our take on “putt-putt” and very enjoyable for adults and kids alike. There is a gym, should you feel the need to work off that extra mince pie. There is a spa where you will be pampered and treated like the King or Queen that you are. Spend your days cooling off by the pool, of which you have a choice of two. Option 1 is right next to the lounge and bar, so you have easy access to a wide variety of thirst-quenching cocktails. Option 2 is ideal for the little ones, including a slide and ‘kiddies’ pool. What’s more, Sun City is just 8km away! There you can go to the Valley of the Waves or play golf on one of South Africa’s best golf courses, The Gary Player Course.

What better way to end off 2019. Our Christmas and New Year’s celebrations will allow you to spend quality time with loved ones! Memories are measured in moments, not time. Make every second count this festive season.
